Marty Nothstein, the inspiration behind this scholarship, has an exceptional legacy as the greatest track cyclist in the history of the United States. Born and raised in Allentown and Trexlertown, Pennsylvania, Nothstein’s cycling journey began at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center through its community programs. His remarkable achievements include numerous World and Olympic records, National Championships, Pan Am Games Gold Medals, World Championships, and Olympic Medals.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Marty Nothstein is also renowned for his passion for the environment and conservation. He has played a vital role in protecting over 500 acres of property from development, enhancing wildlife habitats in the process. As the chair of the Lehigh County farmland preservation board, Nothstein spearheaded efforts to safeguard over 23,000 acres of farmland in his community. Marty has served as the director of development for Ducks Unlimited Mid-Atlantic and Mexico Regions, Nothstein continues to contribute to the conservation efforts.
