Jennifer Parker Porter, MD, FACS has been recognized as a 2023 Castle Connolly Top Doctor — the 20th year she has received the prestigious Top Doctor honor!

BETHESDA, MD, September 12, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Jennifer Parker Porter, MD, FACS has been recognized as a 2023 Castle Connolly Top Doctor — the 20th year she has received the prestigious Top Doctor honor! Only about 7 percent of the nation’s licensed physicians are selected annually as Castle Connolly Top Doctors in their regions for their specialties.

A respected facial plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat doctor with expertise in head and neck surgery), Dr. Porter founded Chevy Chase Facial Plastic Surgery in 2003 and serves as its medical director.

Dr. Porter performs a range of facial plastic surgery procedures, both aesthetic (cosmetic) and reconstructive — many minimally invasive or non-invasive. These procedures include facelifts, rhinoplasty (“nose job”), fat transfer with micro and nanofat injections, and blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), as well as facial rejuvenation treatments such as skin tightening, deep chemical peels, and injectables.

Dr. Porter is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Surgeons. She is certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS). She was elected to the ABOHNS Board of Directors in 2021.

“Patients come to me for my extensive training in head and neck anatomy as well as the nuances of anatomical configurations that preserve function make me a better facial plastic surgeon,” Dr. Porter says.

“For every patient, regardless of whether they are coming in to see the aesthetician or myself, I conduct a history and physical examination to develop a treatment plan that suits their needs. Through the years, I have caught disease processes that should not be treated with a cosmetic treatment and referred them to the appropriate physician.”

Dr. Porter’s in-depth knowledge of head and neck anatomy and her love of art facilitate her ability to perform rhinoplasty with natural results. She draws patients from diverse populations from all over the world; and thus, tries to create noses that are refined and congruous with their facial features and heritage.

In addition to her practice responsibilities, Dr. Porter has served since 2002 as an associate clinical professor of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Top Doctors are nominated by peer physicians and selected by the physician-led Castle Connolly research team.

“Being recognized for the past 20 years is such an honor,” Dr. Porter says. “I find it particularly humbling given that Top Doctors are chosen by their peers. Recognition from my community of fellow practitioners carries significance.”

Dr. Porter earned her medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine. She completed a four-year otolaryngology residency at Baylor College of Medicine-affiliated hospitals and a fellowship in facial plastic surgery at University of Illinois Medical Center.

She is affiliated with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
